Excess Soy Increases Risk of Kidney Stones

A leading researcher in kidney stones has found that soybeans and soy-based foods may promote kidney stones in those who are prone to them. The findings of Linda Massey, professor of human nutrition at Washington State University Spokane, will be published in the September issue of the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Chemical Society, the world’s largest scientific society. Massey’s work is used by the American Dietetic Association to set standards for kidney stone sufferers.
